It will heighten your unique personal style and make you look more like you on a consistent basis because consistency is key to own a strong personal brand. You can use this same styling trick I use with my clients.

Watch this outfit formulas approach to simplify your life and clarify your brand.

I will give you a styling trick I use to boost my clients’ personal brand that will heighten your own unique personal style and make you look more like you on a consistent basis because consistency is key to own a strong personal brand. So now you can also use this same styling trick I use with my clients. And I call it outfit formulas.

In addition to clarifying your personal brand on a consistent basis, Outfit formulas also offer another major advantage: it will help you streamline your wardrobe to make it a much quicker and easier process in the morning that is sure to be on-brand. In case you’re not sure, an outfit formula is a combination of clothes you can mix & match and wear in different ways. You can use lots or very little variations depending on your taste and personal brand style. Let’s take Audrey Hepburn again as an example. Her outfit formula was to wear cropped pants and ballet flats. Ellen DeGeneres either wears pants with a tucked out shirt and a masculine blazer or a sweater over a tucked out shirt.

Examples of outfit formulas for me are skinny jeans or leather pants worn with a silk top and a blazer plus heels;  A Dress with high heel booties (or shooties) instead of conventional pumps or heel;  A Dress (hemmed at or under the knee or midi length) with over the knee boots so we don’t see where the boots end. This is the most polished and only way to wear over the knee boots in my opinion if you want to look professional.

  •       Skinny jeans or leather pants + silk top + blazer + heels (or boots)
  •       Dress + high heel booties (or shooties)
  •       Dress (hemmed at or under the knee or midi length) + over the knee boots

Choose a few formulas that represent your personal brand style. For example, I have at least 3 skinny pants/jeans, 3 blazers, 3 silk tops, and 2 heels all in different but mixable colors, textures, materials, or shapes. I don’t wear lots of prints, but you could definitely play with prints as well here. That’s only 11 pieces total that can give you many different outfits and that’s only from one outfit formula. If you create 3 or 4 formulas with pieces that you can mix and match, you will have enough outfits for the month that will all represent your brand style consistently. The idea is to simplify and clarify everything. So if I take these booties or these heels, I can wear both with a few of my dresses and they will look just as good. I also wear them with this other outfit formula which consists of a blazer, leather, or skinny pants with a silk cami underneath. This is pretty much a go-to outfit formula for me when I’m not sure what I feel like wearing. Just changing the blazer or jacket instantly changes the whole outfit.
