If you have stuff in your closet that you haven’t worn in years or that you don’t like that much, chances are it’s mucking up the energy and you might be closing off your life to new possibilities. Successful people maximize their time and don’t have time to scan through a cluttered closet or think about what to wear every time you have a client meeting, workshop, or webinar. Having a clutter-free closet and a wardrobe to match your brand image is crucial and will support you to always be prepared and represent your brand well. In this video, you’ll learn 2 tricks I use when going through my clients’ closet.

There is a saying that says “a messy room equals a messy mind.” From the moment you start disposing of the old unnecessary stuff, you will reset your life and your life will change. You will be amazed at how things will begin to change in your life after going through this process.

A friend of mine once told me: “when I need to attract new clients, I clean a closet in my house and clients start showing up”. She is never nervous or concerned about not having enough clients or money. I always thought she was funny, but it makes total sense and is one more proof that life flows so much better if we use these fundamental principles to our advantage.

The first thing I encourage people to do is to visualize what you want.

When going through your clothes and letting go, your vision should be to feel and see yourself having the style and the life you want. Think about the way you want to feel in your clothes and portray yourself to the world. Be as specific as possible and as concrete as possible so that you can vividly picture what it would be like to live that life you want. Visualize your personal brand style you have started to clarify.  I used to have what I call a vision and/or fashion board next to my closet before switching to online. This allows me to be inspired and make my morning routine quicker. If I stand in front of my closet not knowing what to wear, I look at that board and see which outfit speaks to me that morning. Then I recreate this outfit as close as I can from what I have in my closet. This allows me to always refresh and recreate new outfits effortlessly if I don’t have the time to do it from scratch. This has been very useful to me on many occasions. In my opinion, Pinterest is the quickest, most effective way to create a fashion board.

There is a fantastic book called “the life-changing magic of tidying up” from Marie Kondo. In the book, Marie explains that we should focus on what we want to keep, not what we want to get rid of, which goes against what many people say: discard anything you haven’t used in a year. I agree with Marie’s approach as you want to focus on the positive and not the other way around, which can bring anxiety to the process and put you in a state of “lack” as opposed to putting you in a positive state.

Furthermore, it makes the process much more empowering and easier. It’s much more difficult to decide to discard something whereas it’s not that difficult to identify something that brings you joy. The moment you touch it, you know the answer. Marie Kondo says to take each piece of clothing into your hand and ask: does this bring you joy? If yes, keep it. If not, get rid of it. And here ladies, you will experience another proof that higher-quality clothes, not quantity feel so much better. It is the answer to feel great about yourself and what you are wearing. You will feel it when you touch silk, it will feel so much better and luxurious than polyester!  You can also ask yourself, does this garment represent my brand? Does it represent the message I want to project or where I want to be as opposed to where I am at right now? Does it fit the experiences you want to manifest?

The fact that you will not need to search for your clothes is actually an invaluable stress reliever and will make the process of getting dressed in the morning way quicker. No more overflowing closet and despair because you “don’t have anything to wear!” Once you ignite your closet, you will have only things that you love and make you happy. This is huge. Plus it’s so fun to create a whole collection of outfits that you really enjoy wearing–whose colors, fabrics, and style make you look awesome. If you look great and feel good in what you are wearing, your energy will be better, and you will attract better things in your life.

Moreover, to be as successful as you want, you have to spend your time wisely, so If you spend 10 extra minutes a day figuring out what to wear, that adds up to about one hour per week or about 45 hours a year – that’s a whole week worth of time!  I know I could use it!

 If are you ready to:

  •       Create a blank slate for clothes you love. Save time.
  •       Relieve stress caused by time and the extra clutter
  •       Gain clarity on how you want to be seen
  •       Define your personal brand style and wow factor
  •       Know exactly what you have and what to wear every morning
  •       Save money
